Roberson wins second term as mayor
Mayor Sandy Roberson on Tuesday won re-election to a second four-year term in office, turning back a challenge from first-time candidate Theresa Alston Stokes.
"I'll tell you: It was a hard election, but we're just really grateful that I get four more years," Roberson said of his reaction while his supporters rallied around him at the Goat Island Bottle Shop at Rocky Mount Mills.
"We have a lot of things in the city that I think we need to continue to work on," Roberson said. "And I'm just thrilled that we're going to have four years to be able to do it."
