New city manager sworn in to office
Rocky Mount’s new city manager was sworn into office Monday evening shortly after the start of the City Council’s regular meeting.
Keith Rogers Jr. was administered the oath by retired Superior Court Judge Quentin Sumner.
Rogers returned to the city manager’s seat in the City Council chamber and gave the community update, which is standard procedure for the city manager shortly after the start of council regular meetings.
Rogers was manager of the Town of Dumfries, Va., when the council more than three months ago voted to hire him to be Rocky Mount’s future top day-to-day executive.
