New 64-unit apartment complex officially open
Mayor Sandy Roberson was one of the speakers at the gathering and emphasized what he sees as the need for more housing of all types, especially affordable housing.
“And affordable housing is just more than a roof over someone’s head,” Roberson said. “It’s a cornerstone of a thriving, inclusive and prosperous community.”
Roberson said affordable housing is about assuring that every person, regardless of their income, has access to a safe, stable and a decent place to live.
“When families have access to affordable housing, they’re less likely to experience stress and disruption of constant moves or worse, homelessness,” Roberson said.
