IT'S BACK: Down East Viking Football Classic returns to Rocky Mount for 27th year
The city of Rocky Mount held a press conference Tuesday to announce the 27th Annual Down East Viking Football Classic, which will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Rocky Mount Sports Complex.
This year’s game features the Elizabeth City State Vikings taking on CIAA foe the Fayetteville State Broncos.
The press conference marked the beginning of what has become an historic event for Rocky Mount. In addition to the game, there will be various events held throughout the weekend.
