CONSIDERATION OF THE FOLLOWING BIDS

Item 14: Consideration of the following Bids:
a) Architectural Services for Business Services Center Renovation Design - award to Oakley Collier Architects @ total amount of $95,000;
b) One (1) Used 2007 Caterpillar 3516C Diesel Package Generator Set – award to Gregory Poole Power Systems @ total cost of $856,679.63 (includes generator, removal and disposal of existing generator, installation of oil supply line and sales tax);
c) One (1) John Deere Tractor Boom Mower - award to Quality Equipment @ total cost of $195,912.40 (based on bid awarded by Sourcewell Group Purchasing Program [Contract # 052417-AGI]);
d) One (1) John Deere 210G Excavator - award to James River Equipment @ total cost of $255,782.10 (based on bid awarded by Sourcewell Group Purchasing Program [Contract # 032119-JDC]);
e) One (1) Steel Pushout Transfer Trailer - award to B&C Body Company @ $107,300.62 (purchase through HGACBuy Cooperative Purchasing Program - Contract #TR11-18 [in accordance with NCGS 143-129 (e)(3) Group Purchasing Programs]); and
f) City Hall Interior Renovations on the Second and Third Floor - award to H.G. Reynolds Company, Inc. @ total contract amount of $591,000 ($394,000 - second floor; and $197,000 - third floor)

Recommended Action: 1) Award Bids as Recommended;
2) Authorize the Purchasing Division to Issue Purchase Orders in Accordance
with the Council’s Award for items (a) through (e); and
3) Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to Execute Bid Contract for item (f) on
Behalf of the City
